Lasting Powers of Attorney
If you want a relative or some other person to make decisions on your behalf if you become mentally incapable you can do so in a Lasting Power of Attorney, or LPA. There are two types of LPA and you can choose to have either or both. The first deals with Financial Decisions – to enable your Attorney to deal with your bank account for example, or sell your house. The second type of LPA deals with Health and Care Decisions – which can include decisions about medical treatment, where you live, or decisions about your personal welfare, such as your diet or daily routine.
You cannot make an LPA after you have become mentally incapable, so contact us now either by phone or using the contact form and ask about our competitive fixed fees. We will talk you through the options and can visit you at home anywhere in central Warwickshire if necessary.
Losing a loved one is always a difficult time, sometimes made more complicated if the deceased relative didn’t leave a Will. We can take away the worry, apply on behalf of the Executors for Probate (or apply for Letters of Administration where there is no Will), collect in the assets and distribute the Estate to the beneficiaries. Contact us first either by phone or using the contact form and we will discuss the options available to you with sensitivity and respect.
Every estate is different so we do not offer fixed fees, but our charges are based on an hourly rate of £180 for time spent. There will also be a Probate fee to pay of £155. A typical estate with a value of, say, £200,000 is likely to cost no more than £2,000.
