Settlement Agreements (formerly known as Compromise Agreements) are an established means of setting out the terms upon which you and your employee have agreed their job will come to an end. They provide certainty for both parties since the Agreement is a full and final settlement of any possible claims. The stress of wondering whether an ex-employee may take action against you is therefore removed. The employee receives any agreed payment and can take no further proceedings against you.
