EMPLOYMENT LAW - For Employers in Kenilworth, Warwickshire

Contracts of Employment

More properly called “terms and conditions of employment”.  It is a legal requirement for you to provide this to your staff in most cases.  All businesses are unique in some way and we will draft the terms specifically to suit the particular needs of your business.  You should also consider standard disciplinary and grievance procedures, since failure to implement these could result in your business being heavily penalised if you end up in the Employment Tribunal.  Ask us, either by phone or on the contact form, about preparing your template for a fixed fee.

Employment Disputes

When you have a problem with an employee you may need to take legal advice before taking further steps.  You may need to initiate disciplinary procedures, or perhaps need us to advise what steps to take to comply with discrimination legislation.

If an employee has claimed against you in the Employment Tribunal or County Court you will need our advice as to whether to defend the claim or settle.  If necessary, we can prepare your case represent you at the Tribunal or Court hearing.

Whatever the problem, ask us first - phone or use the contact form, and we will call or e-mail you back.

Settlement Agreements

Settlement Agreements ( formerly known as Compromise Agreements ) are an established means of setting out the terms upon which you and your employee have agreed their job will come to an end.  They provide certainty for both parties since the Agreement is full and final settlement of any possible claims.  The stress of wondering whether an ex-employee may take action against you is therefore removed.  The employee receives any agreed payment and can take no further proceedings against you.  Matthew Shiels has had a great deal of experience acting both for employers and employees in negotiating and completing Settlement Agreements and you can benefit from this experience.  Contact us by phone or on the contact form, and we will call or e-mail you back.
